Paternity Test Guide

by Jane Bear

Long ago it was legal for a child's heritage if a man claimed that he is the father of the child. Presently with the dawn of the new age in science and technology, everything seems to be attainable. With high tech gadgets and state of the art innovative devices, one can easily do what might be unimaginable decades ago, like detecting a fingerprint, a lying person, and even determining the father of your child through paternity testing.

Not only does paternity testing help to disclose who the real father of a child is, it can also help solve cases that involve conception, child claims, or when a mother's faithfulness is challenged, and rape, particularly nowadays where reported rape cases have escalated. There are a lot of reasons that paternity testing might need to be done, but the motive varies with every situation.

Depending on what kind of test that needs to be performed and the level of investigation, the cost of testing ranges from affordable to very expensive. Also, depending upon the category and size of the samples to be tested, costs vary from lab to lab. You have to make sure that an external body accredits the lab; and you should also know the percentage error of that lab, and the degree of certainty the lab offers before you hire your lab to perform your DNA paternity test. Some poorer quality labs may guarantee only 98% certainty while some expensive labs offer a 99.9999% accuracy which can be a big difference.

But not all paternity tests are expensive. A home paternity test is inexpensive and is easy to use. Having legal paternity testing performed is safe and easy without having any discomfort to anyone involved. In fact, it can be performed in the comfort of your own home through a paternity test kit, which provides complete items that are needed such as swabs, forms and containers.

In order to collect DNA samples of each of the persons involved, a buccal swab is used from the inside cheeks. The possible father and the infant need to be tested, and it might be of great use to also test the mother. The samples are then placed in a tube, labeled and then sent to a lab for DNA testing and comparison. Then you will be informed about the result of the test as soon as possible.

DNA paternity testing is the comparison of the DNA samples of a child, a man, and in some cases along with the mother. Each one of us has 23 pairs of chromosome, half of it we inherit from our mother and half of it from our father. If a match is found between a child and a man, without a doubt he is the biological father. The DNA of the mother can help in testing by removing the mother's DNA from the equation.

In some cases, there are some who perform paternity testing during conception for legal issues or physiological reasons, such as in cases of rape. Or in cases like multiple partners, it may be beneficial to perform prenatal paternity test to start a proceeding for support for the infant, and medical bills when the child is born. Prenatal paternity testing is done during pregnancy, and depending on the way you choose, determines when the test is performed. You can choose between blood sample or amniocentesis. Although there are risks involved when performing the latter, like injuring the fetus, or aborting it and other risks.

Through paternity testing, a family can find out right away if there is a biological relationship between an infant and a father. The most crucial thing about obtaining the results of the test is that you will finally be certain once and for all who the real father of the child is. And perhaps the most hurtful thing is that when you come to realize that you raised a child that's not your own.

Applying for Adoption Under the Pennsylvania Adoption Law

by Febbe Wallace

Adoption is a long process fraught with many complexities and legal issues. While applying for adoption on your own may be the idea, it is always best to learn how an adoption is processed in the right manner. Use the Pennsylvania adoption law as your guide for your adoption application.

The first thing to do is to know is which agency you is ideal for making your application. Under the Pennsylvania adoption law, public and private adoption agencies are and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW). These agencies are authorized, in various capacities, to help in the facilitation of the placement of an adoptive child into a permanent. Learning about how these agencies work is another important key to your application.

The three licenses that may be issued to adoption agencies under the Pennsylvania adoption law are:

- Full Service License - DPW issues this license both to private and public adoption agencies and gives them the authority to assume care and custody of an adoptive child. Asides this, a full-service adoption agency may also provide other services like placing a child up for adoption, initiating the evaluation of prospective adoptive parents; and supervising the placement of an adoptive child into a new permanent home.

With a full service Texas adoption, the agency has the authority under the Pennsylvani law to recall a child from an unhealthy and unsuitable adoptive home environment, and proceed with steps to relocate him or her to a better and more caring permanent home.

- A Non-custodial License - This license allows certain adoption agencies to work hand in hand with public or private full service agencies by specializing in certain areas of the adoption process. They may act as intermediaries between a full service agency and the birth parents, the adoptive parents and the agency, as well as between both the birth and adoptive parents.

Non-custodial adoption agencies also assist in the adoptive placement process. They offer follow-up and support services as well, especially after the child has been placed into their permanent homes. Certain services, under Pennsylvania adoption law, are our of non-custodial licensed-adoption agencies. They may not remove a child from an unsuitable home environment, nor are they authorized to assume the care and custody of a child, as well as initiate adoptive placement processes.

- Agency with Inter-country License - This license is issued by DPW as an additional suite of services under the Pennsylvania adoption law. The inter-country license allows these agencies to initiate final adoption proceedings that would allow placement of foreign-born children into permanent domestic homes. If you are interested in adopting a child from Asian countries such as Korea, China, or the Philippines, you may only do so with a private agency, because under Pennsylvania adoption law, these are the only agencies that may provide these services.

Make sure you go for adoption agency authorized and licensed under Pennsylvania adoption law. It ensures that you have not overstepped your own boundaries, and that your future son or daughter's welfare has been taken cared of before they are placed with you.

The Cure for Despair

by Joe Vitale

During dinner the other night, one of the people in our group looked at me and asked the question I didn't want to hear -

"How did you become homeless?"

By now most people have heard my story of being on the streets of Dallas in the late 1970s and struggling in poverty in Houston for many years after that. Some of it is explained in my new audioprogram, The Awakening Course.

But I had never explained exactly how I ended up in such dire circumstances.

When I answered the question at dinner, everyone at the table stared at me.

The woman who asked the question sat there with her mouth open and eyes un-blinking.

She asked, "Why have you never said this before?"

My friend Mark Ryan was sitting there, also staring, and said, "As long as I've known you, you've never told this story before. It's riveting. This changes everything."

Changes everything?

Riveting?

They all said I had to tell the story now.

"Given the current financial crisis and with people losing their homes and their jobs, this story needs to be told more than ever before," Mark said.

I heard them and realized I agreed.

So here's the story…

I knew I wanted to be an author when I was a teenager. I wanted to write books and plays that made people happy. Everywhere I looked I saw un-happy people. I believed I could help them with humor and stories.

During that time of the mid-1970s, I watched sports. I don't today but back then the Dallas Cowboys were the rage. Roger Staubach and Tom Landry were heroes. I got caught up in the excitement and felt the place for me to make my name was in Dallas, Texas.

I lived in Ohio at the time. Born and raised there. I worked on the railroad as a trackman, doing heavy labor all day long, working weekends and summers since the age of five.

I saved my money, packed up my bag, and took a bus to Dallas. It took three days to get there.

I was lost in the big city, of course. Being born in a small town in Ohio didn't prep me for the hustle and bustle of a city the size of Dallas.

Before long, I wanted out.

But I still wanted to be an author.

At that time major companies were building oil and gas pipelines in Alaska and the Middle East, and offering to pay big bucks if you were willing to go to either place.

I wasn't keen on going to a foreign country and doing more labor, but I saw a chance to make money, save it, and then go on a sabbatical where I could write for a few months or even a year.

It seemed like a brilliant strategy.

I answered one of the newspaper ads that promised to get me pipeline work at a extraordinary hourly wage. I went in their office, met an upbeat sales person, and ended up giving him all of my money - my entire savings, about a thousand dollars at the time - based on his promise that I'd have overseas pipeline work in a week or two.

You might guess part of what happened next - but you won't guess all of it.

Within a week or so, the company that took all of my money went out of business.

Their doors were closed, no one answered the phone, and no forwarding addresses could be found.

Shortly after that, the company went bankrupt.

And not long after that, the owner of the company committed suicide.

There was no one left to try to get my money back.

I was alone.

I was broke.

I was in Dallas, far from home.

I confess that my ego got in the way here. My family back in Ohio would have taken me back in and welcomed me back home. But I was head strong and determined to somehow survive.

Well, I did survive - by sleeping in church pews, on the steps of a post office, in a bus station.

It wasn't an easy time, as you can imagine, and I never used to talk about it. It was too embarrassing.

When I told this story at dinner, everyone agreed I had to share it with you.

They said that people are finding themselves in the same situation - they trusted a government, or a corporation, or a person, or a bank, and now they are losing their homes and their jobs.

Hearing that I went through the same thing three decades ago and not only survived but prospered to a level that the Joe Vitale of thirty years ago could hardly imagine, ought to be inspiring to you, too.

I got off the streets and out of poverty by constantly working on myself - reading self-help books, taking action, scrambling at times by taking whatever work I could find, but always always always focusing on my vision: to one day be an author of books that helped people be happy and stay inspired.

If you're in a place right now that doesn't feel so good or seem too safe, I urge you to remind yourself that this is only temporary.

This is the cure for despair.

As I say in my book, The Attractor Factor, this is simply current reality, and current reality can change.

You can help it along by doing what you know and need to do.

But remember, the sun will shine again.

It always does.

Your job right now is to focus on what you want and keep it in sight.

Yes, keep taking action;

yes, stay positive and surround yourself with positive people;

yes, be of support to others.

But remember, if I or anyone else can survive homelessness, poverty, job loss, or any other hard time, then you can survive it, too.

Please hang in there.

One last thing:

I admit that there were times I wanted to throw in the towel and get myself out of this life.

Thank God I stuck around. Had I left early, I would have missed a life of magic and wonder, success and fame I never dreamed of before, priceless relationships and experiences, and more.

I have no idea what wonderful good is headed your way - and neither do you.

What you have to do is stay the course and follow your heart.

And remember -

Expect Miracles.

Ao Akua,

Dr. Joe Vitale

Is Your Business a Candidate for LLC Formation?

by Caressa Waechter

If you have a business, or are considering starting one, you need to think of the legal implications of doing so. When you are a small business owner, you are opening yourself up to certain liabilities that most likely did not exist before you were your own boss.

One other issue that you have to consider when you are an entrepreneur is taxes. Business taxes are handled much differently than personal taxes, so you have to be aware of what is going on with your business taxes. Consulting with an accountant is a great idea when it comes to business taxes.

If you are an entrepreneur, you can be a sole proprietor, though this generally is not the best choice for most people. When you are a sole proprietor, you are missing out on much of the business tax benefits and personal liability protection that you might otherwise enjoy. Of course, discussing what is best for your situation is best done with a professional.

What business structure should the average small business owner use? First off, the smart entrepreneur will seek professional guidance in determining which structure will offer them the best personal liability protection and allow them to take best advantage of tax laws.

A very common business entity, and most likely the best choice for most small business owners, is an LLC. A limited liability company (LLC) gives you personal liability protection, assuming it is set up correctly, and you totally separate your business and personal activities. Also with an LLC, you can choose how you should be taxed.

Forming an LLC is very easy, with one of the more expensive options being paying a lawyer to form your LLC. A much less expensive option is to use an online LLC formation service, which lets you get a properly set up LLC with prices starting at under $200.

Of course there are other business structures that entrepreneurs can choose, but an LLC is one of the easiest to form and operate, so it works well for most small businesses. Because it is a nice balance of ease of use, simplicity in setting up, and offering personal liability protection, an LLC is a great choice for an entrepreneur.

Before deciding that an LLC is the right choice for your situation, you need to talk to a professional. It is extremely important that whatever business structure you choose is set up properly so that you can benefit from its liability protection and potential tax benefits.

Ways To Search Texas Marriage Records

by Ben Dave

With a population in excess of 20 million and second only to California, it comes as no surprise that there are millions and millions of Texas State Marriage Records in one form or another, past and present. Amid the current age of computerization, both public and private databases exist aplenty and the mother of all repositories in Texas is of course The Texas Vital Statistics Office under the umbrella of Department of State Health Services of Texas. Expectedly, it is the most widely patronized center of information pertaining to marriage records.

Ever since 1966, all marriages in the state of Texas are documented and filed at the Texas Vital Statistics Office along with the other 3 principal vital record categories namely Texas Divorce, Birth and Death Records. Prior to that year, marriage records were only maintained at the respective county or district offices within which the marriage was transpired, likewise other records. Of them, Texas Marriage Records is the oldest.

Texas County Marriage Records go way back to the mid-nineteenth century as early as 1837 but were all scattered and isolated within their own respective county boundaries. Many failed to survive the ages due to a variety of reasons: fires, floods, accidents, negligence or just plain deficient storage by modern-day standards but for all practical purposes, marriage records upon the surrounding handful of generations (as of 1966) should generally suffice, especially with the high standards todays government public records.

By token of Texan laws, a great deal of information can be derived from Texas Marriage Records. They are public records and everyone has the right to them. People can literally access and assess anyones entire marital past and present on demand. Documents such as Marriage License, Certificate and Verification Letter are typical and so are related divorce matters. Particulars of involved parties like parents, witnesses and conducting officers or ministers are also standard information. Marriage records are however not linked between states. As a result, marriages in other states will not show up in a Texas Marriage Record Search and vice-versa.

There are various ways of conducting marriage record search. As with many endeavors these days, the fastest and most convenient searches are accomplished online. Public record websites are readily available on the net and they come in basically two versions: free and paid. True to form and expectations, paid marriage records are by and large way superior to free ones. As such, people would be much better served to go with paid marriage records especially for formal or official applications for which marriage record searches are invariably the case.

Texas Marriage Records are the top public records in the state when it comes to search activity. From background-checking a boyfriend or girlfriend to legal investigation, people are constantly checking out each other and the best thing is its done in secrecy. But why not, its easy and its over in a jiffy for that peace of mind sought ever so often. So it might be a good idea to self-check your marriage records regularly just to be sure that the record is straight, so to speak.

Free Reverse Phone Searches ? How Do They Work?

by Sam Lockwood

Imagine being able to simply key in a phone number and then being able to know exactly who that number belongs to. It's possible to do just that with what is known as a "reverse phone lookup". Not only is it a neat way to get information on someone but also an incredibly useful tool.

There's plenty of uses for this type of search - from wanting to check up on the numbers dialed by a suspicious acting spouse or partner, to simple curiosity regarding the numbers displayed of the calls you've missed, reverse phone look-ups offer people a quick and easy solution whenever they need to know who owns a number. Additionally, this handy feature also has the potential to bring prank callers to justice as the victim is able to determine who has made the call.

It was not until recently that it became possible for users to gather this type of information. Unfortunately, a serious shortage of searchable databases prevented these searches from being possible.

Many companies have set up online businesses in recent times purely for the sake of performing reverse look-ups. Of course, being able to retrieve information regarding not only cell phone numbers, but also unlisted numbers, has meant that these companies maintain phenomenal databases of information.

Admittedly, in most cases there is a charge involved for performing a reverse look-up but considering the charge is miniscule, everyone can afford it. Alternatively, there are also other possible ways of getting this information for free.

The easiest method of doing this is via Google. Simply enter the number you want to trace into the search box, not forgetting to encase it within quotation marks. Hitting the search button will return pages of results.

In the owner of the number has used the number online on a webpage or even as part of a profile, a Google search is sure to locate it. When it does, you can then use some of that information in order to dig up further details relating to the owner.

However, if your Google experience does not deliver the results you're looking for then you'll be better off using a paid service. This will in turn provide you not only with name and current address but also with other details such as employment history of the person who owns the phone.

Ideally, if you choose to follow this route, be sure to find a service which grants you access to an unlimited amount of searches for a single one-time fee. These companies only charge you an initial sign-up fee after which you are entitled to use the service as often as you please.

When one considers the small fee these companies charge, the ability to perform reverse phone searches is an exceptional feature to have at your disposal.

Applying For A Patent

by Mark Huffington

Securing a patent is best served with getting a patent lawyer. The process of getting a United States Patent is a long and sometimes arduous one. There is a reason that lawyers for this type of thing exist.

All a patent lawyer needs is a great idea and all the documentation and they take care of everything else. Sometimes it can be worth it to do the work in applying for a patent on your own.

In order to prepare for this you should gather all of your notes and research material. This will be needed later in the process and its best get it done at the beginning. Use this information to determine what type of patent you will need. There are different types based on the type of invention you have and filing the wrong one will only complicate the process.

Once the appropriate form has been completed and all your research and data is gathered, you will need to pay your patent fees. These vary for the different types of patent applications so check the website or call the Patent Office to double check.

Keep in mind that a lot of these fees are non-refundable whether the patent is approved or not. However, if you overpay a refund is offered. The time frames for this also vary, so make sure you are clear on the requirements.

Soon after your application is filed a patent examiner is assigned to your case. Thsi is where the process really begins. They will look at a number of factors before making a decision. They will check for existing patents or anything that could conflict with your idea.

They will determine if your idea is marketable and patent eligible. This process can take up to a year. Remember that it is not unusual for a patent to be turned down a number of times before it is approved.

This is not supposed to be a fast process but with any luck you will have a successful patent application. You can dispute the denial of your patent and alter your patent application for resubmission. Whatever you do, do not be discouraged.

Entrepreneurs, Should You Form a Limited Liability Company (LLC)?

by Caressa Waechter

There are certain possible liability implications that you need to be aware of if you are thinking of starting, or already have started, a business. As a business owner, you are possibly subjecting yourself to more legal liability than you had before you owned a business.

Business taxes are another issue you need to consider when you are a small business owner. Since business taxes are handled much differently than your personal taxes, you need to have a handle on your business tax situation. Any thing related to your business taxes is best run by an accountant, so make sure you have one.

While you most likely can operate your business as a sole proprietor, this is not the best option in most cases. There are huge liability and tax reasons why you should not be a sole proprietor. Getting professional advice about these matters is highly recommended.

So what should the average small business owner do? Smart small business owners create a business structure to shield themselves personally from liability and to take advantage of small business tax laws.

A Limited Liability Company, or LLC, is one of the most popular business entities with small business owners. An LLC that is properly set up gives you a good amount of personal liability protection because you are going to lengths to make sure your business and personal activities are seen as two separate entities. And with an LLC, you have the choice of how you are going to be taxed, which can lead to tax savings.

How To Find Criminal Records And Do It Quickly

by Davion W

Nowadays, there is an easy way on how to find criminal records without delay through the use of an internet. Several websites on the World Wide Web are now offering fast and free access to public records. These sites are rapidly growing in numbers. All you need to find is a reliable one.

If you will try to narrow your search, you will find out that there are two kinds of websites — the paid and the unpaid. The unpaid sites will allow you to a one time free access, just to enable you to test how to find criminal records online. If you wish to continue and make more searches, then you will be asked to signup and pay a certain fee. This means you will have to upgrade your free membership to premium membership.

Most of the time, paid sites will ask you to pay only once before you begin with your search. It is a one time fee that will entitle you to make unlimited searches for free. You can then take a look at various records such as telephone numbers, addresses, criminal records, job records, marriage records and so on.

If you want a more detailed information, free sites will not be suitable for you. It will be better for you to create an account at paid sites to find a criminal record precisely and accurately.

To get the best results for your search, make sure that the site you will join is a good one. Not all of these sites are created equal. A site with superb performance is worth keeping and you will be able to use it well in all your searching concerns.

These websites offer various membership fees. It will be good to check which among them will fit your budget; but remember that you can never judge a site based on its membership fee. It's the feature, as well as the performance that counts.

It is important to learn how to find criminal records to identify the personality of an individual particularly a new suitor, a new neighbor or an applicant. This process will help us solve the mystery behind a person we might be suspicious about.

I have certainly tried several websites and listed down which I consider as the best sites where you can efficiently find criminal records online. You can find these posts on my blog.
